The Ambitious Dreamer
Doing Young the Vintage Way blog
I have an addiction to working hard, taking on new projects, and juggling multiple tasks at once. In relation to other addictions I’m thinking mine’s not so bad.
On the more productive side, my idea of a good time is soaking in the tub with some quality literature, signing up for another online course, or reading up on social media strategy. I’m a firm believer in the philosophy that feeding my brain is synonymous to feeding my soul.
On the other seemingly less productive side, I enjoy pacing around my house, spinning in office chairs and frantically clicking pens.
I think that in itself is poetic and symbolic of success. Sometimes we’re spending so much time looking at the big picture, that we forget to credit the importance of seemingly insignificant details. These details are often the real game changers.
When I’m pacing the second floor I’m test-driving plot ideas for the characters of my novel. When I’m spinning in my office chair I’m brainstorming social media strategies for my client. And when I’m frantically clicking my pen its because I’m problem solving or weighing options to further my career. If all goes as planned, I hope to one day be a published author and an established social media freelancer/strategist.
Essentially, the road to success doesn’t have a shortcut, and anyone doing it right will tell you the key is to be driven. Sometimes that means having the patience and work ethic necessary to get the smaller things done. Don’t undermine, overlook or otherwise devalue the details involved in the process. Without them success, and dreams, wouldn’t even be achievable.
I’m an Ambitious Dreamer. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
